As Fulbright English Teaching Assistant at Universidad del Atlantico, the largest public university in the Colombian Caribbean, I led a university project to stage a contemporary Caribbean adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale. This project was funded with a $17,000 grant from Universidad del Atlántico and additional funding from Fulbright Colombia and the British Council. I worked on this interdisciplinary project with about 80 undergraduate students and 12 professors from the Theater, Dance, Music and Art programs. The play was produced by Ilian Sanchez Rodriguez, recent graduate of Universidad del Atlántico.

Posters and promotional materials were created by Gisella Lopez at the School of Fine and Performing Arts of Universidad del Atlántico, Barranquilla.

The Shakespeare en el Caribe premiere got glowing reviews in Diario La Libertad, La Metro Noticias and La Extra Noticias.
